The ATVB Council has established an Early Career Committee to foster the development of trainees and early career professionals in the field of arteriosclerosis, thrombosis and vascular biology, including research scientists and clinicians. Our goal is to promote and encourage trainees and early career individuals to participate in council activities and to provide information to those members of our council.

 

Plan and implement the annual Fellows Forum and other programs that facilitate networking among young investigators.  Increase the involvement of young investigators in the ASA advocacy projects that directly impact scientific research. Increase the involvement of early career investigators in the activities of the council. Recruit early career investigators into membership in the council. Oversee policies and procedures and administration of the Katz Prize as prescribed by the Awards/Lecture guidelines set forth by the Committee on Scientific Councils. Review the award criteria and policies and making recommendations to the Executive Committee for changes/revisions as may be necessary. Review abstracts and manuscripts in order to select the award finalists.
