Apply for CPR-O-RAMA
The 2010 AHA Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care place increased emphasis on performance of high-quality CPR. Several communities have reported improved outcomes after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest after implementing improved CPR. Usually the Resuscitation Science Symposium (ReSS) includes an informal, fun event on the Saturday evening program. This year, the ReSS organizers invite submission of brief descriptions of prolonged resuscitations of cardiac arrest that resulted in survival to discharge.
Case vignettes of prolonged resuscitations of cardiac arrest with subsequent survival to discharge can be submitted for consideration for presentation by completing the attached application. Vignettes should be submitted in a structured format that describes the location of arrest (United States vs. other); setting (out-of-hospital vs. in-hospital); etiology of arrest (non-traumatic vs. traumatic), method of resuscitation (manual vs. mechanical CPR); undocumented or de-identified documentation of start and end of CPR; and a brief description of the event. Presentations will be maximum of 5 minutes duration. Successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance.
The vignettes will be judged by an international panel of experts. Recognition and awards will be provided in a variety of categories.
