2010 Secondary Stroke Prevention Update

Guidelines for the Prevention of Stroke in Patients with Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)

Stroke Journal
  • Persons who have had a previous stroke or TIA are at increased risk of a subsequent event.
  • Of the 795,000 that occur each year, about 185,000 are recurrent strokes.
  • The AHA Stroke Council releases the 2010 Update for secondary prevention of stroke or TIA providing comprehensive and timely evidenced-based recommendations.
