2014 AHA/ACC Guideline for the Management of Patients With Non–ST-Elevation Acute Coronary Syndromes (NSTE-ACS)

     
  • This complete revision of the 2007 guideline includes a new title, "Non–ST-Elevation Acute Coronary Syndromes," (NSTE-ACS) and new terminology, reflecting the continuum from unstable angina (UA) to acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
  • Discharge planning, transition of care, and coordination of care is a key focus.
  • Women and older populations are among the special populations considered.
  • Patient and family education includes awareness of risk factors and lifestyle modification among others.
